DESIGN THINKING

Developing visual thinking skills and practicing
rapid prototyping to solve design problems

TALL, TALLER, TALLEST

  • Group project

  • Length: ~2 weeks

  • Materials: foam core, pencils, hot glue, paint, red solo cups

  • Theme: Toblerone (chosen)

  • Designed and built tower in six different levels/sections

  • Designed and built tools to assemble tower into specified region

  • Game day - stacked each level/section with tools, slid tower onto base in center of specified region

DOGGIE FETCH

  • Group project

  • Length: ~2 weeks

  • Materials: foam core, hot glue, golf balls, metal balls, pulleys, dowels, CDs, clay, candy

  • Initiated entire process with pull of a string (see demo below)

Project for ME 101 DP2 (Doggy fetch) with Charlie and The Chocolate Factory as our theme: 1. Pull a string 2. Machine B goes out at least one meter. 3. After at least 3 seconds from when machine B stops, Machine A throws a ping pong ball to machine B 4.
